BOOK: Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance
March 10, 2014
Three quarters of my way through "Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance" I'm beginning to understand the point of his unveiling a number of contradictory systems of unshakable scientific truths. Facts are just illusion. Our concepts of space and time or even geometry are just definitions, selected on their basis of their convenience in handling the "facts". And as I question my own spirituality I have in the past wondered what I'm supposed to believe in. Where is the TRUTH? In fact there is no truth, or rather, it is all true. Spiritual systems and traditions are models. There isn't one more true than the other, and they are not all false - they are ALL true. One is merely more convenient for the individual than the other. One is perhaps serving one better on a specific stretch of that one's soul journey. Harmony and beauty is at the centre of it all. So hum.
