About failing better...
March 30, 2014
Today I struggled with a heaviness. I was feeling cross and aggressive, even refusing to meditate as if refusing to want to feel lighter. My world was imploding in on itself, and then I read these beatufiul words of Anne Cushman that spoke to my heart and began to dance with my soul: "These days, my practice is teaching me to embrace imperfection: to have compassion for all the ways things haven’t turned out as i planned, in my body and in my life - for the ways things keep falling apart, and failing, and breaking down. it’s less about fixing things, and more about learning to be present for exactly what is." My favourite author Beckett can continue this thought with his "Ever tried, ever failed. Try again, fail again, fail better." Consider your failures and your struggles and your challenges a blessing, for with these comes the lessons your learn from your mistakes, helping you to grow stronger and wiser.
